Advantages and disadvantags of scientific break through

Science as we know it today has transformed old and hard civilizations into easier and more efficient that we live in today. It has made life worth living and nowadays we cannot live another day without it. As the great man has said  for every  action there is an equal and opposite reaction, we can cannot have advantages without having disadvantages. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of science contribution to civilization.

ADVANTAGES

1.The most common is that it has make our lives more easier.instead of walking 200km to visit you relatives or send a message you can now use cellphones and buses or planes.it has also made intercontinental travel possible by use of planes and ships. instead of spending years on a journey we now spend only a few hours thanks to science.science has given man the chance to pursue societal concerns such as ethics, aesthetics, education, and justice; to create cultures; and to improve human conditions.

2. it has improved the efficiency of normal jobs through the introductions of machines. As the world population is growing, demand for goods is also increasing and to match the demands of customers, more efficient and faster methods of production were needed. scientific break throughs made this possible.

3.It helps us to communicate more easily with others.Science is involved in cooking, eating, breathing, driving, playing, etc. The fabric we wear, the brush and paste we use, the shampoo, the talcum powder, the oil we apply, everything is the consequence of advancement of science. Life is unimaginable without all this, as it has become a necessity. Now we can communicate and connect with people from other continents through the use of social platforms like facebook and ,many more.

DISADVANTAGES

1. Social media and mobile devices may lead to psychological and physical issues, such as eyestrain and difficulty focusing on important tasks. They may also contribute to more serious health conditions, such as depression. The overuse of technology may have a more significant impact on developing children and teenagers

2.Other detrimental effects include diseases such as typhoid and cholera, eutrophication and the destruction of ecosystems which negatively affects the food chain. Resource depletion is another negative impact of technology on the environment. It refers to the consumption of a resource faster than it can be replenished

Lastly science can be very harmful if it falls into the hands  of the wrong people. Thus can lead to weapons of mass destruction and become a threat to world peace

Science alone has no effect by it can either be bad or good depending on how we use it
